I recently had the opportunity to photograph projected 2018 1st round NBA draft pick, Anfernee Simons for SLAM Magazine. I met up with with Anfernee down in Bradenton, FL at the IMG Academy. Anfernee recently declared he is foregoing his NCAA eligibility to go straight into the pros. Simons was a humble and easy to work with. In about 90 minutes, we were able to shoot quite a few different scenes. Check out some of the images!
I had an absolute blast shooting Florida State's Heisman candidate running back, Dalvin Cook #4, and thier freak sophomore safety, Derwin James #3 for ESPN The Magazine's 2016 College Preview Issue. My crew (assistants Patrick Coughlin & Ryan Willaims, producer Stephanie Boerjan) and I departed Pensacola at 4am to make it to FSU by 8am. We are CST in Pensacola so we lose an hour driving east on I-10. The early travel was well worth the trip. Derwin and Dalvin were amazing to work with and really brought some great energy to the set. Best of luck to this season guys!
Thank you Jason Potterson for the assignment. Also, thank you to Zach Stipe, Christa Salerno, Billy Clark & Maxo Jean at FSU for helping make our shoot go so smooth.
Here are a few behind the scenes photos from the shoot.
I was recently given an editorial assignment from Outdoor Life Magazine photo editor, Justin Appenzeller, to photograph Paul Baker of 5 Star Bait. Paul runs a bait business from his boat in the pass connecting Pensacola Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. Because Paul was working on his boat and it was out of commission at the time we needed to shoot, my friend Stuart West took us out into the Gulf on his boat so we could capture our images. From the short time I spent with Paul, I gathered that he is hard working, honest and genuine. Here are the published images along with a few of my favorites below.
Here is my friend, Captain Stuart West. Stuart, thanks for helping make this shoot happen.
Late last year, I was commissioned to shoot portraits and action images of Wendy's High School Heisman finalist, Trey LaNasa. I had to capture my images of Trey in between his time shooting with an ESPN video crew throughout the day. Though the day was hectic and long, we got some great images. Trey runs cross country and track in Florida at Fort Walton Beach High School and is currently committed to the University of Florida to run track. Trey was one of twelve national finalists for the Wendy's High School Heisman award.
I had the pleasure of working with Mollie Johnson and Sage Dunne from Gulf Breeze High School this week. Both girls were super intense about volleyball and fun to work with while taking pictures. Here are a few of the selects.
The 2 action shots above are not composites, they were shot on the court. But here is a BTS shot from the white seamless.
